Possible COVID-19 Support Protocol

While there are no peer-reviewed published studies related to specific vitamin and herbal protocols to treat COVID-19, there are many nutrients with long track records of safety and effectiveness for similar viral infections. Here is what we used in our attempt to prevent significant illness that might require medical management.

(Many of these supportive formulas were discussed in this blog post)

(This protocol is not a specific recommendation for any other person but can serve as a starting point for your own research as needed for you or a loved one. Specific advice can only be given in the context of a doctor/patient relationship.)

Prevention

  • Vitamin D – 4,000 – 6,000 iu
  • Zinc – 30 mg/day
  • Vitamin C – 500 mg 2 times per day
  • Quercitin – 250 mg per day

Early Treatment

  • Vitamin D 10,000 iu (supports immune balance, decreases viral replication, maintains barrier immunity)
  • Zinc – 15 mg 4 times per day or 30 mg twice per day (decreases viral replication)
  • Vitamin C – 500-1,000 mg twice per day (anti-oxidant and part of the immune systems response to cellular stress)
  • Quercitin – 250 -500 mg per day (anti-inflammtory, anti-oxidant)
  • Curcumin – 325 mg per day (anti-inflammatory and immune modulator)
  • Omega 3 Fatty Acids – 3,000 – 4,000 mg per day (this effects inflammation in general and specifically may support blood thinning
  • Arginine Advantage (for nitric oxide and cardiovascular support) – 3,000 mg/ day
  • Mitochondrial NRG – 4 caps per day (this supports cellular repair, energy production and immune health)
  • Megasporebiotic – 2 pills per day (supports the microbiome which has been shown to have a balancing effect on the entire immune system)
  • MegaIgG2000 – 4 pills per day (generalized immunoglobulins that can bind with antigens present in the body)
  • Melatonin – 6-10 mg per night (in addition to supporting sleep, melatonin is a noted anti-inflammatory in the brain and nerve system)
